An original oil on board still life by British artist Morris Kestelman RA (1905 - 1998).  Titled 'Still Life (with Peppers)', signed by the artist and dated 1955.  In its original frame.  From the estate of the artist. 

Kestelman was one of the leading figures in twentieth-century British art. After studying at the Central School of Art and the Royal College of Art, he became Head of Painting and Sculpture at the Central School of Art and Design, where he taught from 1951 to 1971. His career spanned post-war British figuration and later abstraction, exhibiting alongside artists of the London Group and the New English Art Club, and sharing the wider artistic landscape with contemporaries including John Piper, Graham Sutherland, Keith Vaughan, John Minton and Robert Colquhoun. He was elected a Senior Royal Academician in 1986.
