A large-scale French abstract oil on canvas by Colette Masgrau (1928–2025), signed lower right. The composition is built from broad, overlapping forms in a restrained palette of chalk white, warm grey, stone and off-white, punctuated by fine traces of brilliant blue.

The paint is applied in heavily worked, textured layers, with areas of scraping and visible brushwork giving the surface depth and variation. Loosely geometric in structure, the muted palette and expressive handling give the work a distinctly post-war Modernist character.

Presented in a bespoke hand-painted wooden tray frame, made specifically for the piece.
