A rare-to-find 1950s French wrought iron garden set comprising a round table and four chairs.  The sculptural ironwork forming the table pedestal and the tall, linear backs of the chairs give it a distinctive look. 

There are historical layers of paint in off-white, green, deep red and soft brown, worn naturally over time to reveal a rich patina. There is some surface rust, which has been cleaned back, and the iron has been waxed for protection.

A rare and beautifully considered piece of French garden furniture.
