A striking hand-worked iron cockerel by Haitian sculptor Joseph Louis-Juste (1940–1989), his name impressed into the surface. Louis-Juste was an important figure in the fer découpé tradition of Croix-des-Bouquets, working with cut and forged metal to create distinctive sculptural forms. 

Boldly drawn with a wonderfully simple silhouette, the piece retains two brackets on the reverse, suggesting it was originally intended to be mounted. Today it works particularly well as an individual piece of wall art.
