A large-scale original charcoal on paper work by Trevor Bell (1930–2017), signed and dated 1956.

A powerful figurative study, almost portrait-like in its composition. Bell builds the face from strong, angular lines and deep areas of charcoal, balancing recognisable features with increasingly abstract forms.

Created during Bell’s early years in St Ives, where he settled in 1955 and became a member of the Penwith Society in 1956 — an important and formative period in the development of his work.

Presented professionally glazed in a hand-painted and stained wooden frame.
