A hand-forged iron three-light pricket candelabrum in the form of a stylised long-necked bird. Its fluid silhouette, subtle irregularities and original black-painted finish reflect the skill of an artisan blacksmith. Likely made in France during the 1960s, it reflects the post-war interest in expressive decorative ironwork seen across France, Belgium and Scandinavia, where craftsmen produced sculptural domestic objects that blurred the line between folk art and modern design.
