A hand-forged vintage iron pricket candleholder with a distinctive bird-like silhouette. Forged from steel by an artisan blacksmith, its elongated form and twisted stem retain the subtle irregularities that are characteristic of workshop-made ironwork.

Likely made in France during the 1960s or 70s, it reflects the post-war interest in sculptural decorative ironwork, when blacksmiths across France, Belgium and Scandinavia were producing expressive pieces that combined traditional forging techniques with modern design.
