Italian Opaline Glass and Brass Tripod Floor Lamp, Attributed to Stilnovo, C1950
An elegant Italian floor lamp dating to the 1950s, attributed to Stilnovo, with a distinctive flattened, saucer-shaped shade in white opaline glass. The shade is formed from two sections of glass that fit together around a discreet retaining rim, creating a softly rounded, almost floating form characteristic of the atomic-inspired lighting designs of the period.
The shade is supported on three slender, black-painted metal legs with elongated, angular profiles, complemented by a central brass stem and original brass fittings. The contrast between the delicate framework and substantial glass diffuser gives the lamp a particularly well-balanced, sculptural quality.
In good vintage condition, with some minor wear to the interior of the glass, not apparent when the lamp is assembled or in use.
Professionally rewired and PAT tested.
H 94cm, W (Glas Dome) 46cm
