A set of four dining chairs designed by Gijs Bakker and produced by Castelijn in the Netherlands, circa 1970. The design reflects Bakker’s intention to reduce the complexity of a chair’s form to its essential structure. Each chair is constructed from six 11 cm-wide strips of laminated pine wood, pressed into elegant, organic curves.

The set is in good vintage condition, with some light wear evident and a sympathetic refinish to the reverse of one leg.
