An early 20th-century shell-encrusted vessel, later converted to a table lamp. The urn-form body is densely decorated with an arrangement of natural shells, including scallops, cowries and other marine specimens, creating a richly textured and highly decorative surface.
The composition differs front and back, with each side centred around a distinct arrangement of larger shells set amongst layers of smaller specimens.
In good condition, with some age-related wear. Professionally rewired and PAT tested, and finished with a bespoke soft white linen shade.
