THE SHOP

We source and sell antique, vintage and re-purposed goods including furniture, textiles, ceramics, glassware, decorative objects, books and art. Using our textile finds we create unique products such as upholstery, cushions and throws. A small selection of newly crafted pieces complete our offer, such as hand dipped beeswax candles from Yorkshire and brushes, brooms and other utility room goods from Iris Hantverk.

We source from near and far, mixing goods that are centuries old with those from the second half of the 20th century. With our focus on finding unique pieces which have had a prior life, our stock changes frequently and many pieces are one-offs or limited in their availability.

You will find us in a cluster of historic buildings in the ancient town of Rye, East Sussex. Just one hour from London by train and nestled between picturesque countryside and the wonderful south coast.

The majority of our goods can be shipped worldwide so please contact us for a quote or with any questions regarding our stock.

THE LIBRARY

Situated alongside our shop you will find a mezzanine space lined with bookshelves. This holds a personally curated collection of creative volumes, which stem from a career in fashion, design and interiors spanning over 30 years. Our titles centre on art, design, photography, fashion and architecture with vintage and hard to find publications being added frequently. All of our books are in very good condition and many are available for sale.

As a self-contained space which holds a particular charm for creatives and book lovers, The Library is available to hire for meetings, as a workspace and for research. As an added service for those wishing to use the collection as a research tool, we can make a pre-edit of books that may help with particular projects. Alternatively you can peruse the books at your leisure. This space is available to hire for your private use per hour or for a half/full day.

EVENTS

We will be collaborating with fellow creatives to host a series of events throughout the year whether that be social evenings, product launches or workshops.

Since opening the doors at Soap & Salvation we have met an interesting and inspiring group of people.

The desire to collaborate and support one another is an important part of the creative journey which can otherwise prove to be a rather solitary existence.

Being able to bring different people and/or their work in to our space and share their creative produce and experience as well as their inspirations feels rather special.

For us it fulfils a desire to find and appreciate new things that we personally love. It also enables us to bring our community together.

Details of any new events will be coming soon so please sign up for updates should you wish to receive further news and information.
