Preparatory Water Colour of a Face by Franz Marangolo

  • A preparatory work in watercolour on paper by Italian artist Franz Marangolo (1912 - 1995) from the 1960's.  Marangolo was an Italian artist who became renowned for his mid century eye catching portraiture for Campari.  Characteristic of his work of the time was the use of bold, rich colour painted in graphic plains.  This piece is in excellent condition and is presented in a softened black hand painted wooden frame, having been float mounted on a linen board and glazed to conservation standards.
