Hand Dyed Antique Linen Cushion
A cushion made using hand spun and hand woven antique linen which has been dyed using indigo to create a mark making pattern in off white. Due to the way the dye has been applied by hand each piece is individual and carries varying depths of colour which only adds to their appeal. The natural properties of indigo also mean these pieces will become softer in colour over time and on exposure to sunlight which we have tried to illustrate in these pictures.
Finished with hemp buttons from Merchant & Mills and made for us in Rye, East Sussex. Our cushions pads are also made locally. They are generously filled with ethically sourced European duck feather in a pure cotton cambric cover which is waxed to prevent protruding feathers.
We would suggest that indigo pieces are not placed against very pale surfaces where they may rub.
